Surface Systems

All chemistry happens at the surface.
The surface is the critical factor in the performance of any component,
especialy in chemistry/biochemistry/chemical analysis/transfer.

We have an extensive range of materials that are used to create single-layer, multi-layer
and composite surfaces to enhance the performance of a device or component.

We apply these surfaces to the following substrates:
glasses, ceramics, hard metals, hard alloys and cermets.

Low Surface Energy

AMC18
Used to reduce nonspecific protein binding, biocompatible.  Can be added other surface systems as a conditioning agent.  Very stable, very high adhesion.

Note:  Can be used for medical devices.  Non-hemolytic, non-irritating and are comprised of FDA GRAS materials, suitable for full contact or implantation.

Reminder:  The FDA does not approve non-interactive surfaces, the FDA regulates finished devices.  FDA approval is the responsibility of the customer.

AMCSS3
Class of surfaces that are used primarily for reducing critical surface energies, friction resistance and reducing the coeefficient of friction.

Example:  Septa piercing applications as well as surgical and hypodermic needles.

Chemical Isolation

Inertium®
Used in gas chromatography and gas transfer applications.  There are other chemical isolation surfaces in the market that suggest similar performance to Inertium, but really, nothing comes close to the conformity, consistence and quality of our very specific, unique and proprietary processing.

Encapsulation

Ultra Deactivation
These surfaces are used to encapsulate components to prevent interaction with environmental contact.  Ultra Deactivation is used in sampling, chemical analysis, packaging and drug & food production equipment.

Note:  Can resist both acids or bases, and sometimes both.

Corrosion Resistance

AMC148
Used to impart resistance to acids and bases including mineral and organic acids.  Used in optical analytic devices, sampling devices, can be made very hydrophilic .

AMC2148
Used to help stabilize delivery and prolong maintentence interval in fluidic transfer applications, reduces carryover and stabilizes drift in transfer and analysis applications.

AMC2286
Halogen and salt resistant surface used to mitigate and prolong the corrosion resistance of stainless steels by mitigating halogenic attach and ionic transfer.  It is used with buffers, salts, and plasma applications.

Note:  AMCX has the ONLY molecularly thin halogen resistant surface that works.

Tribologic Hard

AMC17
Class of ultra-hard surfaces for tribologic applications, as well as atomic diffusion resistance surfaces.  These are also used in nuclear research and technology applications.

Example: Industrial sewing machine needles made ultra hard to resist kevlar abrasion.

Passivation

AMCSS1
Used to silanize glass surfaces.  We have immense capabilities for this and can scale up.

AMCSS2
Class of surfaces that bond specific moiety surfaces to glass and some metals for various applications.  These moieties can be used for analysis, and be applied to dissipate static, or improve adhesion for other surfaces.

Note:  Can resist both acids or bases, and sometimes both.
